Spider Lake 2014

This year the whole gang made the trek up to Spider Lake to enjoy a week in the woods. It was so nice to get away and enjoy the outdoors, the campfires, the lake, the dogs, the fishing, the boating, the card games, and the family.

Breakfast anyone?

Who needs video games when Uncle Pete and Aunt Jen are around?

Rachel's bouquet of wildflowers

Campfire time! Marshmallows and smores are mandatory.

Many opportunities to play war, the kids favorite card game.

Thanks to Grampy's wonderful bait the kids don't have to wait more than 5 minutes to catch a fish right off the dock!

Rachel with the dogs. For her its one of the best parts of our trip.

Building projects with Grampy in his shop!

Playing in the woods

Warm enough to get in the lake

Super squirt guns and a giant lake full of water, what more could you need?

This year we were lucky enough to see a loon up close since she was sitting on a nest of eggs. Normally they don't let us get close to them, they will instead dive into the water. But wild horses would not have dragged this mom away from her nest. Deb was brave enough to get this photo.
