Cape Cod 2014

This year's adventure at the Cape included several trips to Moby Dick's and Arnold's, much swimming at Slough Pond, paddleboarding at Slough Pond, sandcastles at the beach, mini-golf, a visit to the bay, an evening at the drive-in, and the WHAT theatre children's play.

Paddleboarding at Slough Pond

Much to Grandad's relief, the kids are starting to learn how to swing themselves on the hammock!

The kids had fun with their cousin searching for fiddler crabs at the bay.

For those of us that live far from the ocean, the goal is to eat as much seafood as possible in two weeks.

A walk to the ocean with buckets and shovels for sandcastles, what a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

First time at the drive-in for the kids. They loved it!

We ventured out to Plimouth Plantation for a day to meet some pilgrims and indians. It was fun talking to the pilgrims about their trip on the Mayflower. We even climbed aboard a Mayflower replica, hard to believe how small it was.

Spider Lake 2014

This year the whole gang made the trek up to Spider Lake to enjoy a week in the woods. It was so nice to get away and enjoy the outdoors, the campfires, the lake, the dogs, the fishing, the boating, the card games, and the family.

Breakfast anyone?

Who needs video games when Uncle Pete and Aunt Jen are around?

Campfire time! Marshmallows and smores are mandatory.

Many opportunities to play war, the kids favorite card game.

Thanks to Grampy's wonderful bait the kids don't have to wait more than 5 minutes to catch a fish right off the dock!

Rachel with the dogs. For her its one of the best parts of our trip.

Building projects with Grampy in his shop!

Warm enough to get in the lake

Super squirt guns and a giant lake full of water, what more could you need?

This year we were lucky enough to see a loon up close since she was sitting on a nest of eggs. Normally they don't let us get close to them, they will instead dive into the water. But wild horses would not have dragged this mom away from her nest. Deb was brave enough to get this photo.
